The opening of Tyger Gallery was a wonderful success and I feel privileged to be one of the ten artists to be showing work in the inaugural exhibition BRTYER
I am delighted with this review written By Sasha Grishin, Canberra Times on 22 February 2011

Blake’s inventive collage in her Rocky Times series employs wallpaper that has been cut out into bolder shapes and then stacked together, respecting the gravitational qualities of real rocks supporting one another in space. On occasions, her rock pile start to hint at humanoid shapes and that gives her unlikely constructions a somewhat different connotation

A big week, I attended my Graduation, and delivered my first Archibald entry. My Archibald sitter was Bree Winchester, Journalist from the Canberra Times, and inspirational public speaker. The wonderful Bree wrote a fantastic story on her experience of having her portrait painted. On seeing the finished portrait for the first time, she said " You ARE beautiful" "I see myself in a way I've never seen myself before . I suddenly see how other people view me, I love her and I want to get down on my knees and beg for forgiveness for how mean I am to her (Bree) on a daily basis".
